This policy applies only to the AltToken.online web site and service, as provided by Echo Holdings LLC.
Information we collect
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so–for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better. We collect information in three ways: if and when you provide information to us, automatically through operating our Services, and from outside sources.
Information you provide
It’s probably no surprise that we collect information that you provide to us. In the vast majority of cases, this consists of the following:
Delivery information for your CryptoStorm token. This would be an email address, Keybase username, or BitMessage address.
Billing information. This could be via PayPal, CoinPayments, or mailed payment.
PayPal: PayPal provides us with your name, PayPal email address, and shipping address. As we are not shipping anything to you, or addressing you by name or via email, this information is promptly disregarded. Our system links your PayPal payment to your Order ID, which is all we use when we deliver your token to you.
CoinPayments: CoinPayments provides us with a transactional email address which you supply when you initiate a cryptocurrency payment. This is promptly disregarded, as we do not deliver your token to this email. (Except, or course, if this email is the same as the email provided in the Token Delivery instructions.)
Mailed payment: We could gather a lot of information from here, including: return address on the mailing (if supplied), postmark date and location, information supplied on your check (name and address, financial institution information). However, we don’t. Your check is promptly deposited, filed for a short period of time, and then destroyed. If you pay with cash, it is just deposited. Mailing envelopes are promptly destroyed, except in situations where we have difficulties identifying the order that the payment should link to.
Information from other sources
Information we collect from other sources consists of any information provided by our billing/transactional processors (see above) and by our analytics platform(s).
We use Google Analytics on our website to provide us with information about who comes to visit. This information is anonymous.
How and why we use information
Purposes for using information
We use information about you as mentioned above and for the purposes listed below:
To provide our Services–for example, to send you that CryptoStorm token that you purchased from us;
To further develop and improve our Services–for example by adding new features that we think our users will enjoy or will help them to create and manage their websites more efficiently;
To monitor and analyze trends and better understand how users interact with our Services, which helps us improve our Services and make them easier to use;
To monitor and prevent any problems with our Services, protect the security of our Services, detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities, fight spam, and protect the rights and property of AltToken and others, which may result in us declining a transaction or the use of our Services;
How long we keep information
Information provided in order to deliver a purchased token or other item is kept for up to 30 days from item delivery
If you elect to use the “mailed payment” method in your purchase, we will keep this information until we receive your payment and deliver your item.
If we do not receive payment for your item within 90 days from your order, your order information will be deleted.
Billing/Transactional information is retained by our payment partners (PayPal, CoinPayments) in accordance with their privacy policies.
Mailed check and cash payments are retained as follows:
Cash payments: envelope and “Mail-In Form” are retained for up to 14 days from order fulfillment
Check payments: envelope and “Mail-In Form” are retained for up to 14 days from order fulfillment, physical check is retained for up to 60 days from date of deposit
We consider information “no longer retained” once it is deleted from our system. Please note that your information may still be present in backups held by our web hosting provider(s). These backup policies and time frames are dependent upon their privacy policies.
